NEWC: Thank you for praying!

(Sorry for the poor photo)

We had a great time at the Northeast Winter Conference with our Cornell students! Thank you so much for being in prayer with us concerning this conference.

We had a difficult challenge recruiting Cornell students to the conference this year. We're still not exactly sure what the factors were this time, but we were only able to recruit 8 students.

Never the less, we had a fantastic weekend with our students. Many great conversations were had throughout the weekend, whether there were in the car to and from, over meals, or out on the lake playing hockey for 3 hours!

The theme verse was Matthew 13:44 "44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."

The conference speakers were dynamic, practical, and challenging which lead to some excellent discussion with our students concerning their walk with Christ. We had discussions with several of our students about what it might look like to 'sell all we have and buy the field'. Overall, it has a wonderfully encouraging, challenging, and exciting weekend.

Thank you again so much for investing in this vital ministry of the Gospel!

2010 Northeast Winter Conference

We have our annual Northeast Winter Conference (NEWC) coming up, just two weeks from yesterday (February 12-14). A regional conference were all the The Navigator ministries of New England + New York get together to sit under the teaching of Scripture, dive into Scripture in workshops, and bond in fellowship and community. We are in the process of recruiting our Cornell students to come.

Every year it is a great conference from 4 main reasons:

1. For students to be challenged by the speakers to walk in greater trust & devotion to Christ
2. For students to interact with Scripture in the different workshops offered
3. For our students to get better connected with The Navigators at Cornell
4. For our students to better connect and grow in friendship & fellowship with one another (It helps to grow sense of unity and community, bonding over a shared experience)

Please pray with us that many of our students will make the time & financial sacrifice to come to this conference. We long to see them grow deeper and put their roots down into Christ The Foundation.

Here is the brochure cover (I designed all the graphics/materials for the conference):

NEWC 2009

Northeast Winter Conference 2009

Below are some photos of our time together in Colebrook, CT at Camp Jewell (YMCA). A total of 250 some students came from Navigator ministries all across New England, plus New York. It was a wonderful time of reflection upon the 'crossroads of life'. The focus of the conference was the lordship of Christ. We had 3 speakers that all shared their different experiences of walking with the LORD through different stages of life, and how they each had unique and significant crossroads in their lives at which they needed to make key lordship decision for Christ. The theme verse was:

Jeremiah 6:16 "This is what the LORD says: 'Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."
